Barber Shops
Barber shops are not licensed by OCCHD; however, all barber shops or cosmetology studios where barbers are employed must be inspected annually. For more information, please see our Barber Shop Inspection section.
Child Care Facilities
OCCHD’s Child Care Inspection Services Program focuses on health and safety concerns of child care facilities, summer camps, part-time and school-aged facilities. For more information, please see our Child Care Facilities and Inspections section.
Massage Establishments and Licenses
Oklahoma City is the only municipality in OCCHD’s jurisdiction that requires a license for massage establishments and for individuals to perform massage within Oklahoma City limits. For more information, please see our Massage Licenses section.
Mobile Home Parks
Mobile Home Parks located within Oklahoma City limits must receive approval from OCCHD prior to issuance or renewal of a license. Call (405) 425-4347 or (405) 425-4348 for assistance. Complaints concerning mobile home parks should be reported to Oklahoma City Action Center at (405) 297-2535, or visit the Oklahoma City Action Center website.
Solid Waste Disposal Trucks
This program is conducted under the Oklahoma City Municipal Code. Chapter 47 regulates sewers and sewage disposal and Chapter 49 regulates solid wastes. Privately owned vehicles used for hire to collect and remove residential or commercial municipal solid waste must be licensed by Oklahoma City. The city will not issue the license without approval from staff.
Vehicles used to haul grease and septic tank wastes must also be approved by Consumer Protection staff before the city issues a license. The Municipal Code requires a yearly inspection of these vehicles by Consumer Protection.
For further information call (405) 425-4330.
