Senior Services

Sheltered in Population Emergency Preparedness Plan:

One of the main responsibilities of the Senior Services Division is the maintenance, exercising, and adaptation of the Sheltered-in-Population (SIP) plan as a component of the OCCHD’S Emergency Preparedness plan.

The main focus of this plan is the identification of facilities/ agencies, as community partners, that house and/or care for the Sheltered-in-Population in Oklahoma County. This population could not mobilize to a large Mass Immunization/Point of Dispensing (MI/POD) site in times of emergency. The plan also encompasses the home bound population living in Oklahoma County. Senior Services is constantly seeking to identify facilities/agencies that meet the SIP criteria to become a SIP community partner. If you think that you may meet SIP criteria to become a community partner, please call Mary Baldwin, RN at 419-4107.
