Concerned about the safety of your well water?

The Laboratory at OCCHD provides testing of private well water.  Bacteriological testing, often required when property is sold, screens for the presence of microorganisms which may cause disease.  Sterile containers are required, so please visit the Lab at 921 NE 23rd St,  Room 105,  and pick up collection containers and complete instructions.  The cost is only $10 per sample.

Chemical testing of water is also provided.  The standard well panel includes tests for hardness, alkalinity, pH, and other minerals in your water.  We require a sample of 1 liter.  The cost is $30 for the panel.  Again we can provide the collection containers and instructions, so please stop by the Health Department.

Do you use an Aerobic Treatment Unit for sewage treatment?

The Laboratory  at OCCHD provides the testing required for compliance with DEQ regulations.  Collection containers and instructions are available at the Lab.  The cost for the BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) is $57 and the fecal coliform test is $12.

Questions?

The Laboratory professionals at OCCHD are happy to answer questions or address any concerns that you may have regarding water testing, ATU testing, lead testing or mold.  Please call  425-4380 so that we may help you.
