Epidemiology Service
The
purpose of the Epidemiology Service is to promote and protect the health
of the citizens of Oklahoma County, and to prevent the spread of disease
and adverse occurrences through disease surveillance and investigation,
gathering information and assessing community needs, and inspection and
regulation of child care centers and camps. Staff consists of MPH
epidemiologists, registered nurses, environmental specialists, a
community health educator, disease intervention specialists, a
secretary, data entry operators, and a typist clerk. The Epidemiology
Service consists of four active programs:

and make recommendations for appropriate treatment and control of
communicable diseases
