Children First

WHAT CAN CHILDREN FIRST DO FOR ME?

Are you expecting your 1st baby?
Are you less than 29 weeks pregnant?
Do you want to learn all you can about
becoming a parent?

Then The Children First Program might be for you?  You will have your very own nurse who will visit you in your home.  It is a voluntary, client-centered program so your nurse will tailor the program materials to meet your needs.  Using community resources, books, videos and handouts, you will learn about your pregnancy, your baby’s fetal development and what to expect during labor & delivery.  You will then learn how to be successful at breast-feeding or bottle-feeding, how to give your baby a bath and how to begin your new life as a parent.  Your nurse will continue to make weekly and bi-weekly visits to weigh and measure your baby, educate you about your baby’s growth and development and to help you through the challenges that every new parent faces.  You will learn the joy of reading to your baby, the fun of playing with your baby and the reward of watching your baby grow.  We will also help you go back to school or work if that is your heart’s desire.
